Fiber to your home: new construction

What is fiber?

Fiber is the technology of the future and uses light to transport signals. It is therefore much faster than the traditional copper cables.
The last stretch, from the street to your company, still had traditional cables. We’re changing that, so you can enjoy the best possible network experience. A large part of the Proximus network today consists of optical fiber.

With fiber, you benefit from an ultra-fast Internet connection, without any loss of quality, and no matter with how many people or devices you’re surfing simultaneously.

Why should I opt for fiber?

With fiber you can surf, watch content in streaming and game at the speed of light!

You benefit from speeds of up to 220 Mbps for downloads and 25 Mbps for uploads. You even have the opportunity to increase these speeds to up to 400/50 Mbps with the Fiber Boost 400/50 option, which is compatible with our Tuttimus and Familus Fiber packs. Image sharpness is perfect on all your screens and the quality of the connection remains top-notch, no matter how many people or devices are connected to the Internet at the same time. What's more, the fact that an ultra-fast fiber connection is available in your home may increase the value of your home, according to a study commissioned by the Fiber to the Home Council Americas*.

How do I connect my new home to the fiber network through a property developer.

When you move, all you need to do is to activate your fiber products, by entering your address in our eligibility test tool and following the various steps. You can also call us at 0800 33 234.

How do I connect my new home to the fiber network though an architect?

If you are having your home built directly with an architect, check whether fiber is available for your home.

If it is, don't forget to submit a request for your home to be connected to fiber before you can go on to activate your products.

Why can't I be connected to fiber?

Check, on the basis of your address, whether Proximus is planning to install fiber in your street.

As the fiber roll-out takes place in several phases, your address may not (yet) be part of an area in which works are planned.

Where can I obtain more information about fiber?

Check whether fiber is available for your home or whether your address is part of an area in which works are planned.

In case of the former, you will be invited to activate your fiber products. In case of the latter, you can complete our form in order to be contacted by one of our staff members to discuss the next steps. If your address is part of an area in which works are not yet planned, you will be contacted personally once fiber does become available for your home. Would you like more information? Visit a Proximus Center near you or call us at 0800 33 234.
