Identification of your prepaid card

Choose a way to identify your card

Do it easily online

It’s a legal requirement for all prepaid customers to identify themselves.
If you are a new Pay&Go customer, you must register before using your card.
Prepare your SSN number, it will be asked.

Top up your card

You can load an amount from €1 to €99 via Bancontact.

This method requires you to register again every 18 months.

Use your Belgian eID card

This method requires a eID card reader and your pin code. This is a permanent identification method and needs to be performed only once.

If these methods don't suit you you can visit one of our Proximus Centers.

Register a family member’s card

This card will then be registered in your name

MyProximus

For existing customer only

Identify yourself or a member of your family via MyProximus.

This method is only possible if you are administrator in MyProximus.

Log into MyProximus

Via sms

Send a text message from your Proximus mobile number to 8804, mentioning:

  1. The word IDENT (in capital letters)
  2. Followed twice by the number of the prepaid card you want to register

For example: 'IDENT 0470123456 0470123456' This method only works with a Proximus mobile number!

Or simply opt for FullControl!

Instead of identifying your Pay&Go card, you can simply switch to our FullControl bundle. This gives you all the advantages of a subscription for a low limited fixed amount, without exceeding your budget. And it also means you're registered and in order with the authorities right away!

I use a prepaid card. Am I required to to register?

Yes, since December 2016 all holders of Pay&Go cards without automatic top-ups have been required to register.  This also applies to cards in alarm systems, home automation appliances or other devices that contain a Pay&Go card. You can identify yourself immediately in a Proximus Center or identify your Pay&Go card online.

Can I use my prepaid card if I don't register?

No. If you don't register you'll not be able to make or receive calls Texting and mobile Internet will not be possible either.

Is my registration definitive?

The registration is definitive unless you have registered when topping up via the bank. In that case, the registration of your Pay&Go card applies for only 18 months. You will therefore need to register again.
