The city of Antwerp switches to Proximus

Mechelen, Bruges, Sint-Niklaas, Ghent … They all knowingly opted for the quality of Proximus’ mobile telephony. Following a market survey Antwerp has been added to this select list.

The Antwerp municipal services, the Public Social Welfare centre, police, fire department and a number of other entities will use the Proximus mobile network for the next four years. This means the number of Antwerp employees that use our services amounts to 5.000. Also several M2M-applications, like dynamic traffic signs and piles to shut down (pedestrian) areas, will be systematically activated on the Proximus network.

Especially the quality of the 4G network in the city and the 4G investments in the port of Antwerp were decisive. The contract runs for four years and may be renewed for one year maximally two times.
