The new smart Wi-Fi from Proximus
We have just launched a new intelligent wi-fi, it manages the two Wi-Fi frequency bands according to the connected devices.
What does this mean for me? In practical terms, you only see one network name appear, the one related to the 2.4 GHz frequency band.
The 5Ghz frequency disappears? No, don't worry, the 5Ghz frequency band still exists but it is your modem that decides for you on which frequency to connect each device. We have kept the name linked to the 2.4Ghz frequency band because most devices (old PCs, smartphones and tablets; printers; cameras; thermostats...) are connected to it.
I changed the name of my wi-fi network? If you have customized your wi-fi name, the name related to the 2.4 Ghz frequency will be used.
Do I need to reconnect the devices to Wi-Fi? You will only need to reconnect newer devices if they have never been connected on the 2.4 Ghz frequency.Activate Smart Wi-Fi for free! Opens a new window
