Peppol: impact on your Proximus bill

As of 1 January 2026, legislation requires that all bills between Belgian companies be sent electronically through the European Peppol network.
This will make your accounting faster, more secure, more transparent and less prone to error.
Once your company is connected to the Peppol network, you will receive your Proximus bills through Peppol as well. You will still be able to access your bills in the Proximus+ app or on myproximus.be.

Who does the Peppol obligation apply to?

  • Do you have a Belgian VAT number? If so, then, as of 1 January 2026, you are required by law to use e-invoicing through Peppol. This applies to both incoming and outgoing bills between Belgian companies.
  • Do you have a foreign VAT number or are you not subject to VAT? Then Peppol is not mandatory, but you can still use it.

How does Peppol work for your Proximus bills?

If your company has switched to Peppol, your accounting software or your accountant will automatically receive bills from Proximus (and other suppliers) through the Peppol network.

Like bills, credit notes are also sent automatically through Peppol. They appear directly in your accounting software.

Yes. As is the case today, you will receive a separate document through Peppol for purchases made through Proximus (e.g. parking sessions, tickets or games).

Depending on your accounting software, you may receive an e-mail notification for each new bill from each vendor.

You can still view your bills in the Proximus+ app or on myproximus.be.
You can download them in 2 formats:

  • A PDF-file: a readable version.
  • A UBL/XML-file (available since 1 July 2025) the official, digital file sent through Peppol. You will also find this file in your accounting software.

How to pay Proximus bills through Peppol?

Pay as you always have: by direct debit, by bank transfer or by using the payment button in the Proximus+ app or on myproximus.be. Peppol does not affect your payment methodOpens a new window .

Yes. You don't need to change anything. Automatic payment of your Proximus bills by direct bebitOpens a new window will continue as usual.

We will send you a reminderOpens a new window by text message. If necessary, we will follow up with an e-mail and possibly a letter.

How are issues related to Peppol resolved?

The switch to Peppol doesn't change anything about that process. You may disputeOpens a new window a bill in the same way as before.

The Peppol file (with UBL or XML extension) can only be read in your accounting software. You didn't receive the bill on Peppol? Then check with your accountant or service provider. If necessary, upload the file manually. You can open the PDF version in MyProximus and print it out if necessary.
