During the yearly Think NXT event, Kanaal Z interviews Jan Sonck, Quantum Innovation Lead at Proximus, on the Quantum Circle community and the future of quantum technology.
Jan discusses the rapid development of quantum technology and its potential to transform various sectors. He explains that once quantum technology fully matures, it will trigger a paradigm shift organizations need to start preparing for today. One of the most well-known applications is quantum computing, which will surpass the capabilities of classical computers in terms of power and efficiency.
Quantum Circle, a new ecosystem in Belgium co-founded by Proximus, aims to prepare the country for this technological shift by promoting collaboration between businesses, academic institutions, and research organizations.
In the short term, Quantum Circle aims to inform the market about quantum computing, networking, security, and simulation. The next step is to collaborate at various levels of government to develop a strategic plan around exploiting quantum technology.
