Proximus NXT and the Federal Public Service - Finance have won the Cybersec Award for IT ̒Project of the Year̓ in the public sector. Their SECaaS2 program is unquestionably a milestone: the largest public security contract in Belgian history.

Cybersec names SECaaS2 Project of the Year

SECaaS2 replaces fragmented, on-premise systems with a unified, cloud-native solution. To this end, Proximus NXT offers a catalog of no fewer than 75 managed security services that fully align the federal government’s IT operations with NIS2 legislation and the CyFun framework. The program was first implemented at the FPS FinanceNew window, where the onboarding process was the most complex.

The project serves as a blueprint for further rollout to other federal government agencies and secures critical platforms such as tax applications. Despite the enormous technical complexity, Proximus NXT completed the migration without any disruption to public services.

Enhanced resilience

The partnership between Proximus NXT and the FPS-Finance goes beyond purely technical considerations: it ensures predictable budgets and structurally strengthens the Belgian government’s cybersecurity resilience. Our in-house Belgian Security Operations Center (SOC) monitors the systems 24/7. As a result, the government is able to provide extremely reliable protection for the data of millions of citizens.

With this award, Proximus NXT reaffirms its role as a strategic partner for the public sector. Together with technology partners such as Microsoft, Palo Alto Networks, and F5, Proximus NXT is building a secure digital future for society as a whole.
