Proximus member of international Long Range Alliance

The establishment of the LoRaWAN Alliance was announced in January at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. LoRaWAN stands for Long Range, the radio technology with which it is possible to monitor and operate objects remotely.

The new alliance aims to ensure the interoperability between telecom operators and the standardization of LoRaWAN technology. It makes possible all sorts of applications for the Internet of Things (IoT), where billions of objects and devices will be connected to the Internet. The members of the LoRaWAN Alliance are suppliers of IoT solutions: IBM, Sagemcom, Cisco, Kerlink, Actility, IMST, Eolane, Microchip, MultiTech and Semtech, and telecom operators who will roll out the technology: Proximus, Bouygues Telecom and KPN.
