Proximus External Cloud Connect is a dedicated private network connection on your Explore network to the public cloud computing resources.
This private connectivity from the Proximus Explore MPLS network to the Cloud Provider, offers more reliability, faster speeds, predictable performance, lower latencies and higher security than typical internet connectivity.
This all allows you to provide a stable experience to your final users, employees,…
Proximus External Cloud Connect offers Microsoft ExpressRoute and AWS Direct Connect connectivity. The chosen redundant designs offer the peace of mind availability.
Using External Cloud Connect as your secure access point to the public cloud, enables you to connect directly to Microsoft and Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud platforms without having to deep dive into the technical complexity.
All you have to do is choose your needed External Cloud Connect capacity and sign up for the cloud applications of your choice with your preferred public Cloud Provider.
Proximus External Cloud Connect is the secure way of adding computing and storage capacity to your data center through public cloud providers.
Connecting to these public cloud computing resources across Proximus Explore enables you to bridge your cloud and data center strategies on a single network, with the benefit of full integration between cloud services and your internal applications.
Scalability is key when moving to the cloud. Should you need more capacity, no problem to open the pipe wider. Explore can provide the needed bandwidth with low latency.
You will benefit from the scale and other advantages of the public cloud, without compromising network performance.
Public cloud computing resources can be used for data migration, replication or recovering data after a disaster. Proximus offers reliability and security to make it highly suited for applications where a high level of availability is required. This also works very effectively with large volumes of data, such as when transferring data sets for advanced computing applications.
Europ Assistance, leader in personal assistance services in Belgium, is moving to the public cloud in order to meet the growth challenge, improve his efficiency and reduce its infrastructure costs.
Europ Assistance was seeking a solution that would improve its business offering, enhance efficiencies, better service its clients, and was able to grow with the company.
The past experience they had with Microsoft and with their partner network brought them to the Azure Cloud solution. Europ Assistance decided to move their complete infrastructure (Citrix, VDI workstations) to Azure. Europ Assistance Belgium was chosen as pilot at the Europ Assistance Group level.
Having decided this, they looked for a reliable and scalable way to connect to Azure and choose the Micorosft Expressroute solution. Proximus was selected as the partner of choice to assist Europ Assistance with the deployment of this project.
“We were urgently looking for new infrastructure solutions offering reliability, security and scalability without having to purchase more hardware to cater for future growth,” says Michel Kennis, ICT Director Europ Assistance.
“We have been able to remove the legacy infrastructure and reduce the IT operational time required to maintain our systems and data” Michel Kennis says.
