LEDs on your PLC adapters

You are watching TV wirelessly: what do the LED indicators on your PLC adapter mean (Ethernet via the electric current)?

The light indicators of your CPL adapter can be red or white and blinking rapidly or slowly:

Watch the video in French or in Dutch on YouTube.

  • White and solid: the connection is good and the network is correctly configured.
  • White and blinking rapidly: the device is being configured.
  • White and blinking slowly: the device is on standby. It will restart the moment you start using the Internet or television.
  • Red and blinking rapidly: the CPLs are not communicating with each other.
  • Red and blinking slowly: the signal is poor.
If the light indicator of your CPL is red, we advise you to restart your CPLs.

Power LED indicator Power LED

  • If all the little LEDs are green, this means that the connection between your adapters is working properly.
  • If one of the LEDs is orange, red or switched off, this doesn't necessarily mean that there's a problem. See the explanations below:

Power LED Power LED

  • Green: the adapter is working.
  • Orange: the adapter is in standby mode because there's no data traffic on the line. As soon as there is traffic, the adapter will be reactivated.
  • Off: the adapter has no electric power.

dLAN LED indicator (house icon) dLAN

  • Green: there is an Ethernet connection between the 2 CPLs (10 or 100 Mbps).
  • Orange: the connection between the 2 adapters allows SD flow.
  • Red: the connection between the 2 adapters allows Internet flow, but not TV flow. To correct this, proceed as follows:
    1. Check the cables of the 2 adapters. Test them on different sockets because sometimes the problem is with the socket.
    2. If that doesn't work, restart the adapters. To do so, unplug the adapters, plug them in again, wait for a while, then check if the LEDs turn green.
    3. If that doesn't work, reset your adapters.
  • Off: there is no connection between the 2 PLC adapters.

Ethernet LED indicator (organigram icon) Ethernet

  • Green: there is a connection between the PLC adapter and another device (modem or decoder).
  • Off: there is no Ethernet connection. This LED indicator is off when no device, modem, computer or decoder is connected to the PLC adapter. Connect a compatible device.
