Registering Your Project for a Proximus Network Connection

Are you starting a new construction project? Or contributing to one? Proximus prefers to connect the building to the new fiber infrastructure. That’s why it’s important to request the connection as early as possible — right after the building permit is approved. In areas without fiber, several steps are needed to make it available. Online from Day One

Requesting the telecom connection on time has three major benefits:

1. Fiber or copper: You’ll know early on which technology will be used. Proximus provides your electrician with technical sheets for the preparatory work.
2. Your clients are guaranteed connectivity - internet, phone, and TV - from the moment they move in. A must-have for many, and a dealbreaker if it’s not ready.
3. Where possible, we coordinate with other utility companies to align the work. That way, we only need to dig once.

Connection in 3 Steps

Step 1: Notification

Requesting a Proximus connection sets several actions in motion:

• The Proximus construction team conducts a technical study to determine the technology (fiber or copper).
• They contact other utility companies to coordinate the timing of the works. This way, one excavation can prepare for water, electricity, and Proximus services.

Step 2: Permits and Preparations

While Proximus arranges all necessary permits for public domain work, you prepare the site. For example, your electrician must install waiting ducts, cable trays, and a telecom panel. In apartment buildings, cables must also be installed from the technical room to each floor. All steps are detailed in the technical guidelines.

Step 3: Connection

During the works, Proximus will contact you occasionally. Are the preparations complete? Is the timeline still accurate? If so, they’ll proceed with the final connection.
