From secondary to main job, are you set?

Are you self-employed in a secondary profession and are you still in doubt as to whether you can turn your activities into a main occupation? A lot of people have a hobby that has gotten out of hand in addition to their regular job. They choose the safety of a permanent employer for a while before they spread their wings completely. But how do you know if you are ready to give up your job permanently and become self-employed as a main occupation?
