How to configure Windows 10 Mail?

  1. In the menu bar, click Settings.
  2. Click Accounts and then click Add an account.
  3. Select Other Account.
  4. Fill in your e-mail address and password and click Connect.
  5. Fill in your name and click Connect. This is how your name will appear to contacts when they receive e-mails from you.
  6. Click Done.

You can now send and receive e-mails via Windows Mail for Windows 10.

How to configure Windows 8 Mail?

  1. In the right-hand menu bar, click Settings.
  2. Click Accounts and then click Add an account.
  3. Select Other Account.
  4. Check the box "IMAP" and click Connect.
  5. Click Show more details and fill in the fields as shown below. Then click Connect.
    1. E-mail address: fill in your e-mail address.
    2. User name: fill in your e-mail address again.
    3. Password: fill in your password. If you wish, you can check the "Remember password" box.
    4. Incoming (IMAP) email server: fill in imap.proximus.be in this field.
    5. Port: 993
    6. Incoming server requires SSL: check this box.
    7. Outgoing (STMP) email server: fill in relay.proximus.be in this field.
    8. Port: 587
    9. Outgoing server requires SSL: check this box.
    10. Outgoing server requires authentication: check this box.
    11. Use the same user name and password to send and receive e-mail: check this box.

You can now send and receive e-mails via Windows Mail for Windows 8.

How to configure Windows Live Mail?

  1. In the menu bar, click Accounts and then click Email.
  2. Click E-mail account and then click Next.
  3. Fill in the fields as shown below and click Next.
    1. E-mail address: fill in your e-mail address.
    2. Password: fill in your password. If you wish, you can check the box "Remember password".
    3. Display name: fill in your name. This is how your name will appear to contacts when they receive e-mails from you.
    4. Manually configure server settings: check this box.
  4. Fill in the fields as shown below and click Next.

    Incoming server information

    1. Server type: select IMAP in the drop-down menu.
    2. Server address: fill in imap.proximus.be in this field.
    3. Port: 993
    4. Requires a secure connection (SSL): check this box.
    5. User name to log on: fill in your e-mail address.

    Outgoing server information

    1. Server address: fill in relay.proximus.be in this field.
    2. Port: 587
    3. Requires a secure connection (SSL): check this box.
    4. Requires authentication: check this box.
  5. Click Finish, and then click Close.

How to configure Apple Mail?

  1. In the menu bar, click Mail and then Preferences.
  2. Select the Accounts tab and click the "+" button.
  3. Fill in the fields as described below and click Continue.
    1. Full name: fill in your first name and last name.
    2. E-mail address: only fill in the part of your e-mail address that comes before the @ symbol.
    3. Password: fill in your password.
  4. Fill in the fields as described below and click Continue.
    1. Account type: select IMAP.
    2. Description: if you wish, you can give your account a name.
    3. Incoming mail server: fill in imap.proximus.be in this field.
    4. User name: fill in your e-mail address.
    5. Password: if this field is not automatically filled in, fill in your password again.
  5. Fill in the fields as shown below and click Continue.
    1. Description: if you wish, you can give your account a name.
    2. Outgoing mail server: fill in relay.proximus.be in this field.
    3. Use only this server: check this box.
    4. User name: leave this field empty.
    5. Password: leave this field empty.
  6. Click Create.
  7. Select your account in the Accounts tab.
  8. Fill in the fields as shown below.
    1. Email address: fill in your e-mail address.
    2. Outgoing mail server (SMTP): select Edit SMTP server list in the drop-down menu.
  9. Select the Advanced tab, fill in the fields as shown below and click the OK button.
    1. Use custom port: fill in 587.
    2. Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL): check this box.
    3. Authentication: select Password in the drop-down menu.
    4. User name: fill in your e-mail address.
    5. Password: fill in your password.

You can now send and receive e-mails via Apple Mail.

  • Incoming mail server
    • Address: imap.proximus.be
    • Security: SSL
    • Port: 993
     

    Do you prefer POP3 to IMAP? Then use the pop.proximus.be address and select port 995 with SSL security. (Why is IMAP better than POP3?)

  • Outgoing mail server
    • Address: relay.proximus.be
    • Security: STARTTLS (or TLS)
    • Port: 587
    • Authentication: Yes
