Balancing the innovative features of Public Cloud with ensuring privacy and regulatory compliance for sensitive data is a challenge many IT professionals face. Sovereign Cloud now offers different types of options to address this dilemma.

Keynote: Controlling Hybrid IT

At the occasion of the annual Think NXT event, Raf Peeters, VP Cloud and Cybersecurity at Proximus NXT and Gregory Gruber, Deputy Director at Telindus Luxemburg, look at the way regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, Schrems II and NIS II have reshaped how organizations handle sensitive information.

Traditionally, private datacenters were the go-to choice for ensuring ultimate data privacy. However, new options are now available, born out of innovative partnerships between Proximus and hyperscaler Cloud providers such as Microsoft and Google.

Raf and Gregory start by broadly sketching what data sovereignty is all about, before diving into the technical aspects of Sovereign Cloud solutions. In the last part of the keynote, Kurt Cornelis, CEO of Satellic, gives the audience a look behind the scenes of the road-user charging project (kilometer tolling system applied to trucks since 2013 developed for the Belgian government), explaining some of the features of the IT infrastructure set-up with Proximus.
