The prepaid card of your kids, no longer anonymous

Be the first to knowby Peter22/10/2016

But what exactly will change?

As from end-November, anonymous top-up cards will finally be a thing of the past. This means that everyone must provide us with the required data. Including customers with children who already have such cards. By the way, precisely the same applies with the other operators.

But don't worry, we'll help you do everything as simply as possible.

Why is all this necessary?

First, a brief word about why all this is necessary. Well, it's a decision the federal government made to help combat terrorism. A fight which we at Proximus like to help take on.

First of all, anyone who buys a new prepaid card will now also need to identify themselves. But also if your offspring already has a prepaid card with us, you'll need to provide the necessary data.

The simple solution: Mobilus FullControl

But the cheapest solution is actually to simply switch to FullControl. Then you're fully in order straight away plus you get to enjoy all the advantages of a subscription. All for a limited amount per month, which the apple of your eye can never exceed.

Does your son or daughter already have FullControl or a subscription? In that case, everything is in order and you don't have to do anything.

Alternative: register the existing prepaid card

The alternative is to provide us with the required data for your children's existing prepaid cards. You have until mid-May 2017 to do so. What if you don't do so within this period? In that case your son or daughter will no longer be able to make calls, text or surf, until that is, you submit the required data.

There are now several ways in which to identify the card. You can identify the card using your child's electronic identity card, by text message and via MyProximus, or by dropping into a Proximus Center. Simply choose the method that's best for you.

Still have questions? Don't hesitate, be sure to ask them below, or read our special page about this.

Hi, my name is Peter and I have a passion for the Internet and communication! I’ve been working at Proximus for 8 years and I'm a huge fan of our brand. I love this company, its employees, the products, and our mission to bring customers closer to what they care about. I’m currently responsible for the digital communication campaigns, but I’ve also worked on rebranding and was a trend watcher in a not-so-distant past.
