Problems connecting your games console to the Internet

Want to connect your PlayStation, Xbox, Switch or Wii U to the Internet? In the vast majority of cases, you can connect your games console to the Internet without any problems by following the instructions given by your console manufacturer. In some cases, however, you may encounter difficulties:

NAT or port opening problem
  1. Reboot your modem to remove all previous configurations that could disrupt the b-box.
  2. Consult the support pages of the console manufacturers: Nintendo, Xbox or Sony.
  3. Open the ports on the b-box if the console or game prompts you to do so. If necessary, enter the username and password you use for an internet connection.

DMZ activation

Activating the DMZ on your modem's console is not recommended as it will result in all protections being removed for the device in question at the level of the modem.

Connection too slow or unstable

Connect your games console to your b-box using an Ethernet cable to test the connection:

Is the connection still unstable?
  1. Do a line test to make sure there is no disruption on the network.

    Start the test

  2. Reboot your modem and device.
  3. Check to make sure you haven't exceeded your monthly Internet data quota. If you have, you can order an additional volume of data.
  4. Consult our tips in case of Internet or TV problems.
Does the connection improve?
  1. If possible, leave your console connected to the b-box via an Ethernet cable.
  2. If you were connected over Wi-Fi, consult our tips on how to improve your Wi-Fi.
  3. If you were connected via PLC, check their LED indicators. If your PLCs are old, replace them by new PLCs.
