Problems connecting your game console or IP camera

Want to connect your IP camera or your PlayStation, Xbox, Switch or Wii U to the Internet? In the vast majority of cases, you can connect your games console or IP camera to the Internet without any problems by following the instructions given by the manufacturer. In some cases, however, you may encounter difficulties:

  1. Reset your b-box/Internet BoxOpens a new window to remove all previous configurations that could disrupt the b-box/Internet Box.
  2. Consult the support pages of the console manufacturers: NintendoOpens a new window , XboxOpens a new window or SonyOpens a new window .
  3. Open the portsOpens a new window on the b-box/Internet Box if the console or game prompts you to do so.
  4. Check if the dynamic IP adress is active: 
    Login to MyProximus Opens a new window and click on the Internet box. If you see the Shared IP box, click on Own your own IP adress. If you don't see the Shared IP box, your dynamic IP adress is already activate.

DMZ activation
Activating the DMZ on your b-box's console is not recommended as it will result in all protections being removed for the device in question at the level of the b-box.

Connect your games console to your b-box/Internet Box using an Ethernet cable to test the connection:

  1. Reboot your b-box/Internet BoxOpens a new window and device.
  2. Check to make sure you haven't exceeded your monthly Internet data quota. If you have, you can order an additional volume of data.Opens a new window

  1. If possible, leave your console connected to the b-box/Internet Box via an Ethernet cable.
  2. If you were connected over Wi-Fi, consult our tips on how to improve your Wi-FiOpens a new window .
  3. If you were connected via PLC, check their LED indicatorsOpens a new window . If your PLCs are old, replace them by new PLCs.

Create a PPpoE session directly on your game console.
  1. Enter the username and passwordOpens a new window you use for an internet connection.
  2. On your PS4, go to Parameters > Network > Network configuration > By cable > Personnal > PPoE.
  3. Enter your connection informationn. Confirm.
  4. Choose the automatic DNS settings.
  5. Choose the automatic MTU settings.
  6. Choose "Proxy server: do not use". Confirm.
You are now in open NAT and can connect without problems.
It doesn't work?

Check the NAT or port opening section

  1. Connect the Playstation to the LAN port 1 on the back of the Internet Box.
  2. Connect to MyProximus on the web.
  3. Go to your Internet product.
  4. Scroll down to Advanced Settings.
  5. In Network, activate Bridged LAN Host.
  6. Fill in the MAC address of the Playstation.
