Configure PhoneMail

Do you wish to change your PhoneMail settings? You can do so using via your own telephone or any other number in Belgium or abroad.

  • From your own phone: call 1969 (= national call rate)
  • From another phone or a mobile in Belgium: call 078 15 1969 (= national call rate)
  • From abroad: call +32 78 15 1969 (= international call rate)

If you are not calling with your own phone, you will need to enter your telephone number (without the country code) and your PhoneMail code.

Configure your PhoneMail for the first time

Call the number 1969 from your own phone and follow the instructions:

  1. Choose the PhoneMail menu language (Dutch, French, English or German).
  2. Record your name and a personal greeting lasting a maximum of 60 seconds.
  3. Choose a personal PhoneMail code made up of 6 to 8 digits to allow you to consult your PhoneMail from another phone or from abroad. Obvious combinations such as 123456 or 111111 are automatically refused.

Change your PhoneMail settings

Call the number 1969, choose option 3 "Settings" and follow the instructions. The following options are available to you:

(1) Change your personal greeting and name: record a new welcome message lasting a maximum of 60 seconds.
(2) Personal code: activate or change your PhoneMail code.
(3) General options:

  • Change the PhoneMail menu language (Dutch, French, English or German).
  • Choose whether to hear the date and time of a received PhoneMail message when it is played.
  • Activate or deactivate the Extended Options. Activating this service will for example allow you to forward PhoneMail messages to third parties and send a recorded message in reply to a received PhoneMail message.

(4) Incoming message alert: choose to be notified whenever you receive a new PhoneMail message.
(5) Mailing lists: create and change up to 20 mailing lists and add up to 20 people to each list. This allows you to send prerecorded messages to different landline and mobile numbers at the same time. It is not possible to add international numbers or special numbers (070, 0900, etc.).

All changes are executed immediately.

Disable PhoneMail

You cannot disable PhoneMail yourself, contact our customer service so we can change it for you.
