Install your Ruckus devices
By installing a Ruckus transmitter near the modem and a Ruckus receiver near the Proximus TV decoder, you avoid having to connect a cable between the modem and the decoder:
- Install the Ruckus transmitter first by connecting it to the modem.
The Ruckus transmitter is the device with the white cover, on the left in the picture. - Next, install the Ruckus receiver by connecting it to the decoder.
The Ruckus receiver is the device with the orange cover, on the right in the picture. - Install an extra Ruckus transmitter if needed.
If you have several televisions sets, you will need to install one or more additional Ruckus receivers.
Here is how to perform these 3 steps of the installation:
Install the Ruckus transmitter near the modem
Start off by connecting the Ruckus transmitter to the modem. The latter can be any type of modem sold by Proximus.
- First check that the modem is properly plugged into the Proximus wall socket via the blue Internet cable (supplied with the modem).
- Next, connect the Ruckus transmitter to the modem using the grey Ethernet cable (supplied with the transmitter).
- Finally, plug the power cable of the Ruckus transmitter into a power outlet.
Once you have done all this, the cabling should resemble that shown in the diagram below (your modem may be different from the model pictured in this example).
Install the Ruckus receiver near the decoder
Continue with the installation by connecting the Ruckus receiver to the decoder. The latter can be any type of decoder sold by Proximus.
- First check that the decoder is properly connected to the television via the HDMI cable (HD television) or the Peritel cable (non-HD television). The HDMI and Peritel cables are supplied with the decoder.
- Next, connect the Ruckus receiver to the decoder using the grey Ethernet cable (supplied with the receiver).
- Finally, plug the power cable of the Ruckus receiver into a power outlet. The receiver will connect to the transmitter automatically. Once the link between the 2 devices has been established, the LED
will light up (see also What do the LEDs on your Ruckus device mean?).
Once you have done all this, the cabling should resemble that shown in the diagram below (your decoder may be different from the model pictured in this example).
If you have just one television set, the installation is now completed. If you have several televisions sets, see below how to install an additional Ruckus receiver.
Install an extra Ruckus receiver if needed
Do you want to watch TV on several television sets? In that case, install an additional Ruckus receiver near the 2nd decoder. If you have three television sets, install yet another Ruckus receiver near the 3rd decoder.
- Take the Ethernet cable going from the transmitter to the modem. Disconnect it from the modem and connect it to the 2nd receiver.
- Wait 1 minute for the transmitter and the 2nd receiver to link up. You will see the 2 LED indicators furthest to the right on the device (
and
) flash for 1 minute and then go out.
- Take the Ethernet cable going from the transmitter to the 2nd receiver. Disconnect it from the 2nd receiver and connect it to the modem.
- Connect the 2nd receiver to the 2nd decoder using the grey Ethernet cable (supplied with the 2nd receiver).
- Finally, plug the power cable of the 2nd receiver into a power outlet.
Once you have done all this, the cabling should resemble that shown in the diagram below (your decoder may be different from the model pictured in this example).
If you have 2 television sets, the installation is now completed. If you have 3 television sets, add a 3rd Ruckus receiver in the same way as you added the 2nd Ruckus receiver.
