Change or cancel a subscription linked to a device

Did you receive a mobile phone, TV set, game console, laptop, etc. at an advantageous rate with your 24-month subscription contract? It’s possible to change or terminate this:

  • Is this contract more than 24 months old? You can change or terminate this subscription without obligations.
  • Is this contract less than 24 months old? If you change or terminate the contract you will need to pay back the residual value of the device.

Check the duration and conditions of your contract. This depends on the device that you received with the subscription.


A smartphone with your mobile subscription


 

Did you purchase a smartphone at an advantageous rate with your subscription? If the contract for this is less than 24 months old, certain conditions apply in case of a change:

  • Want more or less call minutes and data?

    If your contract is less than 24 months old, you can make a switch free of charge, but only to the rate plans we show you in MyProximus. There, you can change your subscription yourself, you keep your smartphone and you don't pay any residual value. If you choose a different rate plan to the ones shown in MyProximus, you can keep the smartphone but you will need to pay the residual value to Proximus. Check how long your contract still runs for and what the residual value is.

  • Want to choose another smartphone?

    If your contract is less than 24 months old, you can choose a new smartphone and keep the old one, but only if you pay the residual value of your old phone to Proximus. After that you can choose a new phone at a discounted price and select your preferred rate plan. Check how long your contract still runs for and what the residual value is.

  • Want to terminate your subscription and the DataPhone option separately?

    If your contract is less than 24 months old, it’s not possible to terminate the contract and the option separately. In that case you are entitled to terminate your subscription and the DataPhone option, but only if you pay the residual value of your phone to Proximus. Check how long your contract still runs for and what the residual value is.

    After 24 months the DataPhone option and accompanying data expire.

Want to know how long your contract still runs for and what the residual value of your device is?

  • You can check the residual value and end date in MyProximus. You must be registered on MyProximus and logged in as the administrator of your account. Proceed as follows:
Via the MyProximus app
  1. In the MyProximus app, tap on Products and then on your mobile number.
  2. Scroll to Smartphone with subscription. You will see your device, the end date of your contract and the residual value. Do you only see the end date but not the residual value? Ask the administrator of your account to check this.
Via the MyProximus website
  1. Log in to MyProximus to view your products.
    View your products
  2. Scroll to your mobile number.
  3. You will see your device, the end date of your contract and the residual value.

The residual value is also shown in the amortization table PDF format which you received when you concluded the subscription contract.

The end date of your contract is also indicated on your monthly bill or payment statement.


A device with your Pack subscription


 

Did you receive a TV set, game console, loudspeaker, laptop or other device at a give-away price with your new Internet, TV, landline and mobile subscription? If the contract for this is less than 24 months old, certain conditions apply in case of a change:

  • Want to switch to a different Pack composition?

    If your contract is less than 24 months old, you can choose another rate plan for the mobile phones in your pack, but you cannot change the rate plan for your Internet, TV, and landline.

    If you do opt for another pack or terminate your pack, you will need to pay the residual value of your device to Proximus. Check how long your contract still runs for and what the residual value is.

  • Want more or less call minutes and data for your mobile(s)?

    If your contract is less than 24 months old, you can make a switch free of charge, but only to the rate plans we show you in MyProximus. There, you can change your subscription yourself. It is not possible to choose a different rate plan to the ones shown in MyProximus. Check how long your contract still runs for and what the residual value is.

  • Want to choose another device with a discount?

    This is not possible.

  • The residual value of your TV set, game console, loudspeaker, laptop or other device is shown in the amortization table PDF format which you received when you concluded your pack subscription contract.
  • The end date of your contract is indicated on your monthly bill or payment statement.
