How can I activate and use my eSIM profile?

To activate and use your eSIM profile, follow these steps:

If you've ordered an eSIM online, you will receive an activation email within 2 hours of your request. This email will contain your PIN, PUK, and mobile number. Make sure to be connected to Wi-Fi and have your activation email at hand.

The quickest and easiest way to activate your eSIM is by using the Proximus+ app or by logging into your MyProximus web account on a secondary device. If you are new to MyProximus, you can create your account in just a few simple steps.

Alternatively, if you have received a QR code from one of our shops, you can activate your eSIM by scanning it with the device on which you want to activate your eSIM. Within seconds, you'll be connected to the Proximus network.

How do I get an eSIM?

You can easily order an eSIM online with a mobile subscription — just select the eSIM as your desired SIM type. You can also pass by one of our shops where an agent will be happy to assist you in obtaining it. Before requesting the eSIM, please check that your mobile phone is compatible with it.

Can I swap my physical SIM card to an eSIM?

Yes, you can swap your physical SIM card to an eSIM directly from your phone settings using Quick Transfer or using the Proximus+ app. Do you need help? Go to the support page on how to transfer your SIM card.

You can also pass by in one of our shops to ask for a swap.

If I delete the eSIM or reset my phone, can I reinstall the eSIM?

If you had activated your eSIM with a QR code received by email, you can simply scan the QR code again to restart the installation. Can’t find the activation email? No worries, the QR code is still available in your MyProximus account in the Proximus+ app.

Can I use a Proximus eSIM with an Apple or Samsung smartwatch?

For the moment, it is not possible to use a Proximus eSIM on companion devices such as Apple or Samsung smartwatches, but we are working on a solution to make this possible!

What’s the difference between an eSIM and a SIM card?

An eSim or embedded SIM is a SIM card that is built into the smartphone and offers exactly the same functionnalities as a physical SIM card. With an eSIM, there's no physical SIM card that you need to insert, and you can quickly activate it.

What makes eSIMs more secure than traditional SIM cards?

Embedded SIM (eSIM) technology offers a significant security advantage over traditional SIM cards, thanks to its integrated nature. Since eSIMs are not physically removable, criminals cannot easily obtain or manipulate them. As a result, eSIMs significantly reduce the risk of SIM swapping or port out fraud.
