Caller display service

You see the number of your caller before you pick up, as well as the numbers that tried to call you while you were away.

Availability

  • You need a compatible telephone for this. Discover the phones that we offer or check whether your current phone is compatible.
  • The Caller Display service does not operate directly if you have one of the following private telephone switchboard types: Forum I6, Forum I12, Forum R106, Forum R208, Vivaldi, Octopus, UKS 4000, 1/4, 2/10. Proximus can install a special connection for you that gets round the switchboard. Call our customer service free of charge to make an appointment.

Call waiting signal

Receive a second call without losing the first one.

If a person tries to reach you when you are on the line with someone else, you will be alerted by a beep. You can take this second call without losing the first. If you have an ISDN line: the Call Waiting Signal service is already included on your ISDN line. If you have a Proximus Duo Line: the Call Waiting service is only available in the Smart Services Advantage Pack.

Calling restrictions

You want to avoid surprises on your telephone bill? Than you can block outgoing calls to special numbers.

There are two possibilities:

Permanent restrictions

You call our customer service to activate the service.
After that, Proximus programs the type of restriction you want for your telephone number.
Once these are installed, they cannot be removed without the help of our Customer Service department.

There are 6 types of permanent restriction:

  • Complete calling restriction: all calls are blocked except those to emergency service numbers
  • Calling restriction on non-national calls: blocks calls to non-national numbers (numbers outside Belgium, 090(x = 0,1,2,3,4,9), mobile phone numbers, 070, 0905 and 0906/0907 numbers).
  • Calling restriction on international calls: blocks all calls to numbers outside Belgium
  • Calling restriction on calls to 0905 numbers (free): blocks calls to 0905 numbers, used for gaming
  • Calling restriction on calls to 0906/0907 numbers (free): blocks calls to 0906/0907 numbers. The calls via internet (dial-up) to the following countries are blocked as well. See list underneath.
  • Calling restriction on calls to premium numbers (for free): blocks calls to 090x- numbers (0900, 0901, 0902, 0903, 0904, and 0909) except for numbers connecting to internet services (from 090930 to 090936 included).

Temporary calling restriction

You call our customer service to activate the service.
After that, you program the type of restriction you want for your telephone number. You can activate and deactivate as many restrictions as you want. For security reasons, a password is required on your line (otherwise anyone can deactivate the call restriction).

Number Display Restriction

Do you want to call anonymously, so that your fixed phone number and name is not displayed on the phone of the called party?
You have two free of charge options:

  • for a specific call, dial * 31 * + the number of the person you are calling #
  • to apply the restriction for a longer period of time, call 0800 33 008 or 1987
Answering services PhoneMail Basic and PhoneMail

The PhoneMail™ Basic and PhoneMail™ answering services are free of charge.

PhoneMail™ Basic:

  • You are automatically equipped with this feature.
  • If a call is not answered after approximately ten rings, the caller has the opportunity to leave a message (at the price of an ordinary domestic telephone call). Proximus will then attempt to deliver the message to you for two days.
  • Receiving and listening to messages are completely free of charge.
  • You can activate and deactivate the service at any time by calling toll-free 1950.

With PhoneMail™ Basic you cannot consult your messages directly. You have to wait until you are automatically called by Proximus. To listen to your messages directly, or to give your voicemail a personal touch, you should activate PhoneMail™.

The answering service is incompatible with lines to which other systems are connected, such as fax, answer machine or modem or any alarm system not approved by the IBPT1.

PhoneMail™:

  • You can change the automatic message that your caller will hear.
  • When you pick up the phone, a recorded voice will alert you that you have a new message.
  • Check your voicemail from any touch-tone phone, in Belgium and abroad.
  • You can automatically answer your calls or transfer your messages to a third party.
  • To listen to your messages, you only pay for a national call (in Belgium, from a landline).
  • Total capacity: total duration of 50 minutes or 30 messages.
  • Maximum duration of a message: 5 minutes.
  • Messages you receive are stored for 30 days if they have not been listened to, and for 15 days if they have been listened to and saved.
  • An answering service without a subscription or additional device.
Automatic recall when the line is occupied

If your correspondent is on the line with someone else, there is little point in calling every 2 minutes. Simply type the code 'R5' as soon as you hear the busy signal. You can reach someone else in the meantime. As soon as your line is free, you will be called back and the call will be set up with your correspondent.

Three-party conference call

This service, which is useful if, say, you want to make an appointment, does not require a subscription. You only pay for calls that you have initiated.
This service is not available on ISDN-2 indialing.
