Online entertainment in your car? This is now possible!

Are your kids often whining in the car and would you like to keep them sweet? Or are your best friends traveling with you in your car and would they rather watch funny YouTube clips or a Netflix series? Well, that's now possible. Simply turn your car into a Wi-Fi hotspot!

It's very easy, with the SIM card that's already built into your car. The result is a stable connection with the worldwide web. Depending on the car, the connection is even at least as strong as the usual 4G connection of your own smartphone. Moreover, the connection is secure and allows several people to use it at the same time.

But how do you set it up?
  1. First, search for your car's Wi-Fi hotspot with your smartphone, tablet or laptop.
  2. Establish the connection and open your browser. The Internet in the Car homepage will now automatically appear.
  3. First time? Then create an account first. After that you can simply log in here.
  4. Buy a prepaid data bundle for your Wi-Fi hotspot. You can choose between different bundles. By the way: in the first month you get 1 GB of data for free!

Ready? All right! From now on you can start to surf the Net via your car. And don't worry: the hotspot is strong enough. This means that not only can you read your e-mails and listen to music, but you can also do online gaming or stream videos without any problems.

Is this available for me?

For the time being, Internet in the Car is only available for a selection of cars from Mercedes and BMW.

Want to check if your car supports the service? Then search for your car's Wi-Fi network and connect to it. When opening your browser, do you automatically get the Internet in the Car login page? If so, your car supports the service.

It’s also useful to know that your car's data bundle is also valid abroad, without any extra roaming charges. Aside from in Belgium, an Internet connection is also possible in Albania, Austria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Switzerland and Turkey.
