Faced with the difficulties of integrating TV service into the bedside terminals, the CHU Liege – the only university hospital in Wallonia – enlisted the help of Proximus in 2011, signing a ‘proof of concept’ partnership. A little over two years later, after positive test/POC results, the CHU Liege decided to move ahead with a phased launch.
Proximus Business TV is a digital television service developed specifically for the managers of hospitals, nursing homes, hotels or public institutions operating over 50 TVs. The solution allows them to provide patients with high-performance digital television access, through a system that’s easy for managers to oversee. The menus have even been designed to meet the specific needs of patients (larger typeface, greater color contrast, simplified menus).
In addition to offering the ‘traditional’ digital TV package, Proximus Business TV enables central management and allows managers to easily create their own information channels based on media content (photos, videos, presentations, etc.). It’s an efficient way to share local content directly with patient or residents.
A public, pluralistic hospital, the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire (CHU) in Liege is the only university hospital in Wallonia attached to a medical school offering a comprehensive cycle. With 895 beds and services distributed across 7 sites, it fulfils three specific missions as an academic hospital: clinical activity, including treatment of complex, specific and new pathologies; research, enabling the development and evaluation of new techniques; and teaching.
