Proximus has received the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certificate for Information Security Management for its cloud, datacenter and housing solutions. This certification confirms that all sensitive customer information is secured and managed at the highest level.
The Cloud solutions portfolio of Proximus covers Infrastructure, Storage, Backup, Hosting and Security solutions, all of them hosted in the Proximus datacenter in Brussels (Belgium). After independent verification, the telecom operator received ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification. This means that Proximus has been awarded the only internationally recognized and most prestigious information security standard.
Data security essential
Protecting information is a top priority for Proximus, especially with regard to securing high volumes of sensitive information. When businesses and consumers manage and transmit private data, the potential consequences if it is not handled properly are enormous. Data security is critical for the protection of companies, their customers and their partners.
The ISO 27001:2013 certification was awarded by Bureau Veritas Certification Belgium. Proximus took the following measures for the process:
- it evaluated its own information security risks, including the impact of detected threats and vulnerabilities.
- it designed and implemented a comprehensive set of information security controls and took other risk management measures to address security risks within its own cloud infrastructure and corporate environment.
- it implemented an overall program to ensure that the information security controls meet the needs of its customers on an ongoing basis.
