Microsoft Teams as collaboration tool of choice
Published on 12/12/2019 in News
Microsoft Teams is a unified collaboration platform that makes it easy to work together as a team. With 20 million daily active users, the platform is fast becoming the collaboration tool of choice for businesses and organizations.
In a June 2019 blog post, Proximus announced the integration of fixed telephony services in Teams via direct routing technology. With Proximus Calling Services for Microsoft 365, Teams users can make and receive calls to and from external staff members or partners. This means teams can enjoy all the benefits of a fully integrated workspace, including fixed telephony. This dedicated setup was originally rolled out as a service for large enterprises.
Integrated fixed telephony
Today, Proximus is excited to announce that it is offering integrated fixed telephony services to all Belgian companies using Microsoft Teams. With our shared model, we have created an offer tailored to the needs of small and medium enterprises, while guaranteeing the same quality, security and reliability as for our large-enterprises offer. A choice of voice calling plans means every company can choose an option that works perfectly for its teams, big or small.
Employees will be able to use a complete collaboration tool, including telephony and videoconferencing, at low cost and without need to invest in new infrastructure.
Didier Ongena, Managing Director of Microsoft Belux
“We are delighted to see Proximus become the first Belgian company to launch a Teams calling offering, through their own infrastructure,” says Didier Ongena, Managing Director of Microsoft Belux. “This service will allow organizations to offer their employees a complete collaboration tool through Microsoft Teams, including telephony and videoconferencing, at a low cost and with no need to invest in new infrastructure. Thanks to Proximus, organizations big and small can now benefit from this great service.”
Proximus partners with expertise
The new shared model is also available through Proximus’ partners who specialise in helping customers with Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Teams. These partners know Proximus products and support channels inside out and are perfectly placed to help organizations get the most out of their Teams roll-out.
Bart Van Den Meersche, Chief Enterprise Market Officer at Proximus says: “Proximus partners know the needs of our customers and the challenges they face, and they bring a great depth of expertise to the table. We are excited to give our partners the tools they need to help customers transition to an advanced workplace.”
Proximus Luxembourg is also offering voice services for Microsoft Teams customers, using a multitenant SBC hosted in its Luxembourgish datacenters.
The launch of the complete Microsoft Teams offering is part of Proximus Accelerators’ goal to help all enterprises (SMBs & Large Accounts) to put in place their digital strategy and provide them with end-to-end solutions that facilitate their shift to the modern workplace.
