How to deactivate Wi-Fi?

The Wi-Fi network is activated per default on all modems. If you don't want to surf wirelessly, don't hesitate to disable the Wi-Fi network: you can always re-enable it again later.

How to deactivate or reactivate Wi-Fi on your b-box 3?

The Wi-Fi network is activated per default on a b-box 3. Turn off your Wi-Fi network and turn it back on by keeping the on-off button >On-off button next to the Wi-Fi indicator next to the Wi-Fi LED pressed for 3 seconds.

If you look at the front of your b-box 3 modem, you will see that the Wi-Fi LED indicator has gone out. This confirms that the Wi-Fi network is now disabled.

The Wi-Fi network is activated per default on a b-box 2. Turn off your Wi-Fi network and turn it back on as explained below:

  1. Surf to your modem's configuration menu at http://192.168.1.1 with a recent Internet browser.
  2. Type the serial number of your modem. You will find it on a sticker on the back of the modem, next to the word S/N. Click then the button OK.

  3. In the left column, click Advanced Settings then Wireless.
  4. The page Wireless gives you an overview of the Wi-Fi network: Enabled (activated) or Disabled (deactivated). Click the Deactivate button (or the Activate button) to switch off (or on) the wireless function. Click then the Apply button at the bottom of the screen.

If you look at the front of your b-box 2 modem, you will see that the Wi-Fi LED indicator has gone out. This confirms that the Wi-Fi network is now disabled.

The Wi-Fi network is activated per default on a Sagem modem. Turn off your Wi-Fi network and turn it back on as explained below:

How to deactivate or reactivate Wi-Fi on your Philips modem?

The Wi-Fi network is activated per default on a Philips 3P or Philips 2P modem. Turn off your Wi-Fi network and turn it back on as explained below:

  1. Surf to your modem's configuration menu at http://192.168.1.1 with a recent Internet browser.
  2. In the left column, click Advanced Settings > Wireless > Channel and SSID.
  3. The page Wireless gives you an overview of the Wi-Fi network: Enable (activated) or Disable (deactivated). Checkmark the box Disable (or the box Enable) to switch off (or on) the wireless function. Click then the Save button at the bottom of the screen.

  4. Your modem will restart and when it is ready, you will receive a warning that your Internet connection has been re-established. Click the OK button.
  5. You arrive on the page Status where you can check in the Gateway column whether the wireless network is turned on (Wireless Enabled) or off (Wireless Disabled).

If you look at the front of your Philips modem, you will see that the WL (WL = wireless) LED indicator has gone out. This confirms that the Wi-Fi network is now disabled
