How to make your remote control universal?

Configure your Proximus TV remote control and make it a universal remote control: you will be able to use it not only for your decoder but also for your TV set.

Select your remote control below and see how to make it universal (NB: if a technician has come to your place to install digital TV, your remote control has already been configured to be universal).

Do you have a Samsung TV set?
If you have a Samsung TV, you shouldn't have to return your V5 universal remote control, since it already works for your TV. If this is not the case, follow the same procedure as for other TV brands.
Do you have a Loewe TV set?
  1. Switch on your TV set.
  2. Press keys 1and 3 simultaneously for 3 seconds until the TV on-off key (in the top left corner) starts lighting up.
  3. Enter the code 1884. Your remote control is now synchronised with your Loewe TV set.
  4. Finally, press TV on-off key.

Your remote control is now ready to use. You can check if the keys of your Proximus TV remote control are working on your TV set: Volume key to change the volume, Mute key to switch off the sound, EXT key to select an external source and TV on-off key to turn on or off the television.

In case of a problem, we advise you to restart the procedure.

Do you have an other TV set?
  1. Switch on your TV set.
  2. Press keys 1and 3 simultaneously for 3 seconds until the TV on-off key (in the top left corner) starts lighting up.
  3. Each brand and each model of TV set has its own numeric code. You can make your remote control find the correct code automatically or view the list of codes and enter the code yourself.
    • Automatic procedure: keep the TV on-off key pressed down to find all existing codes. This operation may take a few minutes. Release immediately the key when your TV set has switched off.
    • Manual procedure: enter the code that corresponds to your television brand. The main brands are: Bang & Olufsen (0314), Grundig (1162), LG (1628), Loewe (1660), Panasonic (2153), Philips (2195), Samsung (2448), Sharp (2550), Sony (2679) and Pioneer (2212). If you have a different brand, check the comprehensive list of codes to make your remote control universal(.pdf). Then keep TV on-off key pressed down and release immediately the key when you television switches off.
  4. Finally, press TV mode key and the decoder on-off key (in the top right corner). The red light starts blinking, and then goes out. This didn't work? Try again by pressing on the decoder on-off key or on Touche TV mode and tv key.

Your remote control is now ready to use. You can check if the keys of your Proximus TV remote control are working on your TV set: Volume key to change the volume, Mute key to switch off the sound, EXT key to select an external source and TV on-off key to turn on or off the television.

If you do not have a Samsung TV, here's how to make your remote control universal:

  1. Switch on your TV set.
  2. Press keys 1and 3 simultaneously for 3 seconds until the TV on-off key (in the top left corner) starts lighting up.
  3. Each brand and each model of TV set has its own numeric code. You can make your remote control find the correct code automatically or view the list of codes and enter the code yourself.
    • Automatic procedure: keep the TV on-off key pressed down to find all existing codes. This operation may take a few minutes. Release the key when your TV set has switched off.
    • Manual procedure: enter the code that corresponds to your television brand. Make your remote control universal by following the automatic or manual procedure.

  • Let your remote control find the code that corresponds to your brand and TV set automatically.
  • Or view the list of codes and enter the correct code manually.
?Automatic procedure
  1. Switch on your TV set.
  2. Press the arrow key (i.e. the double arrow key) (in the top left corner) until the red LED lights up.
  3. Press keys 1 and 3 at the same time for 3 seconds. The TV LED will then flash twice and stay on.
  4. Then keep the on-off key (in the top right corner) pressed in. After 3 seconds, the system will start searching all the existing codes. Every 1.5 seconds, it will switch from one code to another. When you television switches off, release the on-off key.

Your remote control is now ready to use. To find out whether your remote control is properly configured, press the on-off key (in the top right corner). If your TV switches off, it means that your remote control has been properly configured. If it does not switch off, start the procedure again from Step 3 (press keys 1 and 3 at the same time)
