LEDs on your Ruckus device

The LEDs visible on the Ruckus transmitter or receiver indicate the power status, the status of the connection via Ethernet cable, the connection with another Ruckus device and the quality of the wireless signal. Here is an overview of the different LEDs:

LEDs on a Ruckus device

Power Power LED (Power)

  • Light on: the Ruckus device is on.
  • Light off: the Ruckus device is off. Check that the power cable is plugged into the power outlet.

Wireless connection between the Ruckus transmitter and receiver LED indicating wireless connection between transmitter and receiver (Wireless Device Association)

  • Fixed light: the Wi-Fi port is initialized and active. The transmitter is connected wirelessly to the receiver.
  • Flashing light: the Wi-Fi port is initialized and active. The transmitter is connected wirelessly to the receiver and data is currently being transferred (the faster the flashing, the faster the data transmission).

Quality of the wireless signal LED indicating the quality of the wireless signal (Air Quality)

  • Fixed light: the wireless signal is excellent and streaming video will be of good quality.
  • Regularly flashing light (on for 0.25 seconds and off for the same fraction of time): the wireless signal is acceptable and streaming video will be of variable quality.
  • Irregularly flashing light (on for 0.03 seconds and off for 1 second): the wireless signal is poor and streaming video will be impossible.
