Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR)

What is ANPR?

Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) uses smart cameras to recognize number plates. The scanned number plates are then compared with existing data (stolen or blacklisted cars, authorization to drive in certain zones, etc.).

Framework Agreement in Flanders – What are the possibilities for you?

As tendering authority, the Flemish agency for road and traffic (AWV) appointed Proximus and its partners as the commissioning center for the delivery, installation and maintenance of the ANPR cameras, including the management and user software.

The AWV aims to implement the same system throughout the region to ensure the exchange of information.

Advantages of this approach include:

  • A single solution: the framework agreement provides for standard conditions and technologies, so that data can be quickly exchanged with other entities.
  • All-in approach with specialized partners: the all-in solution comprises technology, implementation and maintenance.
  • The solutions are offered in different variants, each zone choosing the most suitable solution for its specific situation.

This technology is also within easy reach of your region or police zone.

Proximus can deliver all the solutions for setting up your safety or mobility plan.

This can be done on existing IP installations or for all new projects. Don’t hesitate to ask for our different references.
